"Steering currents always fascinate me. Melissa will be trapped under high pressure to the north all the way into the weekend. Thus very little movement. Highs rotate clockwise so some push west likely. Midweek front coming next week that will push high back east. That will help turn Melissa north then likely northeast at an accelerated pace. How far west and how close to the east coast always worth wondering. Most all models still miss the states and that has been the trend. Looks like we will be watching for several days. That is the only guarentee right now. Some places in the Caribbean"

"I geek out with these models/tools from @btangyWx. They show 'trends' and look back at prior runs. Darkest blue current. Lightest the oldest. GFS has been developing and curving first. Not looking likely. CMC still thinks west (as does UK not pictured). EURO sliding more. Official NHC tracks on the bottom right sliding more. Still overall majority turn N/NE (without direct Florida hit). Without dominate steering currents its worth watching a little closer. BTW the 'X' are verified positions for Melissa"
