"Teslas valuation relies on significant revenue growth. It is not possible to grow earnings (or cash flows) enough to justify the valuation strictly from being more efficient especially since they are already pretty damn efficient as a manufacturer. Lack of capex is bearish as it indicates there is not additional demand out there that justifies the investment. What you are describing re: cash flows would be a company transitioning into a cash cow usually after growth has peaked and slowed significantly for the foreseeable future. Cash cows are great but they do not get growth company multiples"
