"Canadian companies have built out a larger lumber production footprint in the USA than they have in Canada. In bc our biggest issue is access to economical fibre. Uncertainty and red tape has stalled investment into bc mills. With the tariffs and duties the vast majority of our lumber is going to eastern Canada. We should be planning how to make our mills far less dependent on the USA and create an environment businesses and people want to invest here. We have been dealing with duties since the 1980s. This isnt new"
