Every memory that I have of visiting her is of her sitting in her maroon recliner watching a soap opera and fussing at granddad while she hand stitched piles of quilt squares. She was well-known enough in this state that a Virginia quilt was a recognizable term. She made Double Wedding Ring pattern quilts for all of her children and grandchildren as a wedding gift and then baby quilts for all the greats. Unfortunately none of her children or grandchildren or great-grandchildren learned the skill and it died with her. I do hope to inherit her"
