"That sounds great on paper until you run the numbers with reality in mind: "10% on any bad asset" is a contradiction. Bad assets dont return XX% consistently. And even good ones dont deliver that linearly. Volatility taxes and inflation eat into that return fast. $200K/year sounds great but that assumes you're willing to spend your full XX% return every year without reinvesting which kills compounding. If you want your capital to last you can't just extract the full nominal return. "Just XX% a year" isnt low. Thats near the long-term average of the S&P XXX and it includes brutal drawdowns"
