"Widespread rains across Tamil Nadu with easterlies converging huge numbers reporting from East facing Ghats. Kotagiri Coonoor in the East Nilgiris Theni Virudhunagar Tenkasi Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari ghats received very heavy rains as did Tiruvallur Thoothukudi and Rameswaram in the plains. Chennai as usual moderate rains across the city with isolated heavy spells.
