Thats when rigging Las Vegas and gambling really took off The 1919 Chicago White Sox scandal known as the Black Sox Scandal involved several players not just one person who conspired to fix the World Series. The key figure often associated with initiating the scheme was **Arnold "Chick" Gandil** the White Sox first baseman. Gandil approached gamblers including Joseph "Sport" Sullivan with the idea of throwing the series against the Cincinnati Reds for money. Eight White Sox players were implicated in the fix:"
