"What would a Halloween season be without a bit of Boris The divine Mr. Karloff elevates The Walking Dead (1936) from an interesting gangster horror flick into the best horror film of that year easily. Pulpy exciting and more based in reality than I was expecting (the then-new Lindbergh perfusion pump or 'glass heart' factors greatly into the tale) Warner Bros had yet another hit on their hands and this Walking Dead didn't even have Norman Reedus in it B+ #31DaysOfHorror Day 10"

"House of Wax (1953) is a Vincent Price classic of revenge horror. One that easily tops "Mystery of the Wax Museum" and House of Wax (2005) which is no small feat as I adore both of those films. Price is elegent and offers slightly more sophisticated terror. My one regret is never seeing this in 3-D the ping-pong paddle scene alone must have been amazing for audiences of the 50s. B+ #31DaysOfHorror Day 1"

"Vincent Price as an actor taking revenge on those who haven't acknowledged his obvious talent and doing so in Shakespearean ways Yes please Theater of Blood could very well be Mr. Price's best role. I don't say that lightly as he's delightful in many films. This movie is so gleefully camp and ham as to be impeccably entertaining. It's that rare horror comedy that works admirably well as both. A- #31DaysOfHorror Day 8"

"Whenever you put Vincent Price Edgar Allan Poe and Roger Corman in a room together you're gonna have a good time Tales of Terror (1962) is a fun anthology. Vincent is great in all three tales and gets to show his range. The obvious highlight being The Black Cat story. Both he and Peter Lorre have some amazing chemistry in that.
