"Unfortunately thats just not true. The Affordable Care Act prohibits physician ownership in hospitals (theres only XXX today - less than in 2000). In addition physicians cannot have ownership in entities where they even have the remote possibility to refer a patient. For example Imaging Diagnostic and Testing Facilities - prohibited. A physician can only own so much equity in ambulatory surgery centers as well. The number of physician-entrepreneurs in this country has decreased and not by a couple hundred - by tens of thousands since 1990. There are only 280000 independent physicians left in"
