If a remote supervisor has to talk to the passengers inside about attempting to restart the vehicle movement then it sure seems like the vehicle deactivated for a period of time. "Based on watching many 100s of Waymo fail Vids- It is likely that this Waymo stranded itself in the intersection beyond the light cycle. At that point it disregarded the red light and made a turn whenever it found an opening. The problem seems to be extremely indecisive behavior as these vehicles creep forward and cover the crosswalk and then simply freeze in place through one or multiple light cycles as oncoming traffic comes through When it strands itself closer to the center of the intersection it usually locks up and only a supervisor can perform an unlock; which solves the freezing event"

"San Francisco CA. DEC.2024- Waymo freezes in lanes for a minimum of XX minutes per the video. Its Just Stuck Blocks part of crosswalk for most of that time frame. Evaluation from The Sunset Project indicates that the car may have wanted to turn left onto a closed road and then simply gave up and blocked the road. There was no resolution to this event as the videographer had to move on with his day. Video sped up and skipped forward for expedience.
