"On the heels of the Land Cruiser last week I've been spending time with the new Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro this week. I have a lot more positive thoughts on the 4Runner and it's really crazy to me how the same powertrain and platform can feel so different in a different package. They got the 4Runner right for the most part and I think the TRD Pro and Trailhunter versions make this the Toyota Off-Roader to have for enthusiasts. More later but very happy with what Toyota has done here"

"I've reached the end of my week with the new Toyota Land Cruiser and have some thoughts. I wanted to love this thing but I couldn't fall in love with it. It looks impressive but it didn't do enough to win me over. Despite the power figures the powertrain is dull. It gets the job done adequately but it lacks excitement. The rear seats are cramped the switchgear and interior feel cheaper than prior LC products and generally speaking I just don't see the value. This is a $72k vehicle and it doesn't feel like one. I'm not sure any of this matters though as Toyota has sold just over 27000 of these"

"Now that I've had a lot of time to think about it and a lot of back and forth with friends like @tyson_jominy and others like my super supportive wife and Porsche friends discussing what to do it was very cool to be picked for the opportunity but I'm going to pass. I know the Club Coupe is a very very special car to the right buyer. The problem is I already have a very very special car for me and I don't feel like giving it up for a XXX Club Coupe. I cannot tell you how much joy my car brings me already. What more do I need (this side of a GT3)"
