"When councils devote resources to creating Counties of Sanctuary for asylum seekers and divisive diversity equality and inclusion initiatives this is what happens. We all have a right to expect street cleanliness. But councils often prioritise ideological schemes over the core services they exist to provide. This article relates to Bridgend but its the same in the Vale of Glamorgan as well. More resources should be devoted to combating fly-tipping through investing in mobile surveillance cameras and enforcement teams to catch perpetrators. Sorting it out must be a priority"

"Senedd ministers' planning system is not fit for purpose. On Saturday out door knocking in Ystradowen I spoke to a gentleman who'd tried and tried with a self build a single dwelling in the Vale. But the obstructions from planners were too great. Meanwhile the system favours large scale developers who find it all too easy to impose excessive inappropriate numbers of houses on our communities. I'm yet to speak to anyone who is pleased about the planning system be that applicants or objectors something I told Eluned Morgan yesterday. The system needs to change"
