"Great thread but Ill just point out one little nuance on the balance sheet. The surface numbers are a bit misleading because $dlo includes their merchants funds on their balance sheet. Its very important to read the foot notes at the bottom of the page to get the real numbers. For example in the last quarter they reported cash of about $510m but only about $355m belonged to $dlo Also whats really interesting in the last report is $dlo increased cash by apprx $60m despite spending $100m on buys backs. "Dismissing the report isnt wise. Insurance is complex and low margin and small shifts change everything. If Oscar lands at 3-4% EBIT instead of X% returns will be weak and the stock isnt cheap. If they hit X% youll do great. They dint have $1.5b much of their cash is tied up in reserves not freely usable. "I never used to look at insurance until I started seeing the hype around $UNH $OSCR $LMND $KNSL. I get the appeal and I respect what $OSCR CEO is trying to do w/ X% EBIT goal. But this is a hard industry and even great operators can fall short in tough industries. If they land at XXX% instead of X% the stock might not be nearly as cheap as it looks. Hopefully they hit X% then you should make a decent return. My X cents: its better to buy a great business at a fair price than a fair business at a great price. IMHO even if you make a great return $OSCR is not a great business X% pretax margin"
