"To expand on why I believe the end of 2026 through 2027 will be the time of economic reckoning we must look no further than OpenAI (a proxy for a general trend magnified much larger across economy). OpenAI's cash game: Intakes $200B+ (recent raises like $40B Series F $100B Nvidia). Expenditures $8B burn in 2025 $14B losses in 2026 $450B infrastructure through 2030. My estimate is that OpenAI will be forced to raise more funds to meet obligations in one to two years. "I think we are a year or two out because of all the AI infrastructure spending. If cracks form for example OpenAI and others pulling back on infrastructure commitments then the time to short is nearer. There is too much money flowing through the system now and we are still in the midst of the frenzy with a pending rate cut. My gut says something happens in the final year of Trump's term"
