MAIIC received K20 billion from the government in 2023/24 and only K2.4 billion in 2024/25 from a development partner not from the national budget and no funding from the previous administration. The project now owes suppliers K33 billion. Out of the projected 88000 MT of maize only 5470 MT has been delivered from the program. Here is the issue with the Malawi Stock Exchange It looks super good right now though devaluation into the holiday season is a huge risk When looking back many financial stocks (except Standard and National Bank) Took a hit Ranging between from -X% to -XX% Post devaluation So that's a huge dip.
