Very interesting race this year for sure with Ka Ying Rising being involved. Thank goodness he is . But amazing how shallow our sprinting pools are now. "Futures punters are always crying over missed results and horses not reaching or shifting their grand finals. But the Sir Delius case is genuinely different. Sir Delius wasn't injured. He was BANNED after mandatory CT scans showed "heightened risk of injury" - not an actual injury but potential risk. These scans are compulsory for ALL Melbourne Cup runners. Punters backed him into near-favouritism for weeks. But he was never getting past those mandatory scans showing that risk profile. This screening was always going to happen it's part of the race conditions. We accept horses might break"
