He was BANNED after mandatory CT scans showed "heightened risk of injury" - not an actual injury but potential risk. These scans are compulsory for ALL Melbourne Cup runners. Punters backed him into near-favouritism for weeks. But he was never getting past those mandatory scans showing that risk profile.
