"Long but worth a read. The reason college and NBA work is because they are (or were) different sports. There is a reason nobody watches NBA G-League XFL or AA Baseball. They are the same sports as the NBA NFL and MLB and when presented with the same sport people will always choose the highest level. Forever college and professional sports have been different sports. "For those asking why my opinion has changed so much from the 5+11 model to auto bids for conferences here is why: I dont trust the CFP committee or voters. ESPN and FOX have way too much power and influence on narratives. The idea of 5+11 is to earn it on the field but under the current ranking system that definition is different for every conference.
