"My time in Uruguay was way too short but from what little I did see Im convinced its terribly underrated. If youre planning a trip to Buenos Aires I highly recommend baking in at least 3-5 days to visit Uruguay particularly Punta del Este. From there make sure to check out Jose Ignacio just 40mins to the northeast. Its an upscale bohemian beach town with great food and luxury stays. A quieter alternative to Punta. Best months to visit are Dec-Feb during high season or Nov / March-April if you prefer fewer crowds during shoulder season. Other notable destinations I didnt have time to visit but"
