"The Execution of Jao Noi Phrom Lamphun [----] A young prince was beheaded over a wounded elephant. One evening at dusk the ruler of Chiang Mais elephant Mae Kham Piu was stabbed while being ridden around Lamphun. The injury was severe. Earlier that day Jao Noi Phrom younger brother of Lamphuns ruler had argued in a gambling den with a subordinate of a Chiang Mai noble. When the elephant was attacked suspicion fell on him immediately. He denied it. Lamphun investigated and believed him innocent. But the elephant belonged to the ruler of Chiang Mai himself. That changed everything. A royal order"
