"This is the enchanting process of waulking the wool or waulking the cloth It is the last stage in the production of homespun tweed. During this process the cloth would be soaked then beaten rhythmically usually by hand to shrink and soften it. It would generally be carried out by a group of women on a hard surface such as a table.
