"Lots to unpack here but yes medical care is way to expensive. Acting pays well BUT it's got a lifespan. And it stops paying when you stop earning. James Van Der Beek had a good run on Dawson's creek. But as a young actor he probably wasn't making to get him through the rest of his life. Since the 90s he's been working steadily but (probably) making a middle class salary.
