"$CSL.AX : Closing Auction I've been educating myself on the closing auction with thanks to some of you. Between 4:00 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. the ASX looks at what price will maximise the volume of shares traded and set that price as the closing price. Significant purchasers like to move large blocks of shares at that time because it is anonymous as the order does not come up on the lit book/trading depth. I have been told that XX% of the entire days volume for any one stock is typically executed at that time. The closing auction is particularly useful because unlike the opening auction an order"
