If you own XX% of your portfolio in $SPY and buy X% in $SQQQ you realistically own approximately .80-((1.23).05 =0.62 or a XX% net exposure to $SPY If youre not making a Wild alpha play against the correlation between $QQQ & $SPY save yourself the hassle and just trim some gross $SPY exposure. Hedging should be done with things other than your long term asset. Even outs arent a hedge thats direct insurance"

Unfortunately bonds were distorted by the Fed for so long that there are still knock on effects. Little or no real yield credit spreads so tight they could turn coal into a diamond and questionable currency dynamics"

"Real estate isnt the true or ultimate hard asset. In fact I think its one of the weakest. Its both easy for government to tax unrealized gains via property taxes And ZIRP era QE pulled forward a TON of the return to the present. It now faces headwinds. Very similar to owning a bond and the yield goes from X% to 2%.
