"Not finding much of anything that looks attractive in quality compounder land at the moment. And not for lack of trying. Valuation vs. growth expectations of some UK stocks like Compass and Relx look ok and they aren't PMI/rate sensitive so should hold up well and continue to grow earnings. But not very exciting. 10-15% IRR type stocks. Then most of similar non-cyclical stocks in the US are on very extended multiples. I do like Rolls Royce $RR.LN $UBER and $TASE.IT as growth + self-help stories with insulation from general economy but need big balls/conviction on the earnings outlook as NTM"

"Nuclear supply chain might be a good thematic to monitor for shorts. These names have ripped since negative sentiment on IPPs in March this year. Have to be careful though. High momentum. Some of these may continue to do well if we get more catalysts on data centre deals or AP1000/SMR build timelines. So would be patient for valuations to get even more extended. I own $TLN in PA. $CW I also used to own it's a good business but recently sold it because valuation is in silly territory so risk-reward here isn't attractive. Also used to own $CEG but am out of that now"

"Reading the $GE investor update. Plenty of interesting nuggets for the aircraft/engine leasing stocks $AER $AL and $WLFC. E.g. CFM56 retirements have been extremely low. 2024 was below 2023 and YTD in 2025 is below 2024. Lease renewals for the CFM56 are at 90-95% vs. 30-40% a few years ago"

"Quick look at Bel Fuse (class B shares ticker $BELFB) an ok quality (and improving) connectors business trading at a reasonable valuation. Have been following it for some time now. Market cap is $915m not covered all that well. ADV is $5.8m so big enough now that slightly larger funds can look at it. Business has been around for a long time (70 years) was family owned and only had X CEOs during that period. Farouq joined in 2021 as a strategic advisor of some kind and catalysed effort to turn the business around. Made many successful changes (go read the posts and commentary on VIC for"

"Has anyone looked at $FG the life insurance and fixed annuities business which is XX% owned by the title insurance business Fidelity National $FNF Showed up on one of my screens so I had a look at it Trades cheap at 0.7x BV (price $XXXXX vs. Q1 2025 BVPSof $43.31) after a weak Q1 (which mgmt see as short term) and not helped by poor free float (US$4.2bn market cap but only 21.2m out of 134.8m shares trade). Generates XX% ROE not a great business but could re-rate higher over time if they shift to more institutional flows and gain owned distribution both are higher margin. CEO and other"

"@0xKuzco If thats what youre doing look at LLPs in hot section of the engine specifically $CRS $ATI and $HWM best is probably leaps on $CRS because its cheaper than HWM and has same pricing cycle playing out but be careful and do your own work"

"From recent Hohn interviews he mentions narrow-body aerospace engines as an example quality investment thesis that he likes. Easy to look at the TCI 13F and see they have a very large position in $GE. Here is a basic learning plan for someone ramping up on this space. Must reads: Boeing and Airbus -- understand backlog and build rate dynamics. GE and Safran -- engine OEMs (CFM JV) at centre of the ecosystem. Also look at P&W (sits within RTX). Howmet -- key manufacturer of engine airfoils (other major player is PCC - owned by Berkshire). Other (optional): Rolls Royce -- key wide-body engine"

"Am doing some work on $ABT. Think it looks interesting here - for a really boring high quality resilient business decent (and improving) returns on capital sustainable +LDD EPS potential and now at a reasonable price. Usually these types of names trade on extended multiples but after some short-term issues in Q2 result leading to downgrade of FY25 revenue and narrowing of EPS range stock has sold off -X% and de-rated to 22x NTM PE which I think for a business of this quality is not bad. Business had peak earnings 18m post COVID due to huge influx of diagnostic testing revenue ($8.4bn in FY22"

"I don't like $FTAI - IR guy is a knob disclosure/information is very poor and I don't want to go near battleground stocks. HEICO don't go near PMA for hot engine parts for a reason maybe Chromalloy can pull it off but good luck to them. Still bullish for $CRS and $HWM but have to be careful as expectations are high. $HWM is very likely to be one of if not the most important supplier to GE of the XX 'high priority' suppliers across XX sites that they mention"

"$ITT is a mid-cap industrial compounder that I like will be looking to add if we get any market weakness (e.g. more tariff shocks) and see weakness in cyclical/industrial names. Quite a boring business in not very sexy end markets (e.g. auto brake pads critical safety components for trains industrial pumps/valves and industrial connect/control components like actuators monitoring devices connector plugs and switches) and don't see it talked about very often. Have a look at May-25 investor day where they give 2030 targets for base organic business growth as well as bullish outlook for M&A"
