No they were solvent using an accounting trick in which their liabilities were pegged to a price of crypto that was 1/3rd of its current price while much of its assets were still held in cryptocurrency and so had appreciated 3x. Under no normal operating conditions could that accounting trick had made you solvent in practice. You can't peg your liabilities to a market price from a few months ago while you are still an actively alive business"

"@MatthewJBar Yeah but not everyone about to be born or to be born in a few years (or decades from now). My guess is really a large fraction of human caring is concentrated in those people (everyone who plans to have children or grand-children which is a large majority of people)"
