"This post from Dr. Matthew Wielicki misrepresents the climate science shown in the Met Office Central England Temperature (CET) dataset. Heres a clear and evidence-based debunk: ๐Ÿ” Claim: You should have seen it in 1695. A 2C warming happened from 16951735 faster than modern warming. โŒ Misleading Implication: The tweet implies that past warming from 16951735 was more extreme or significant than todays warming suggesting current concerns are overblown. This is highly misleading for several key reasons: โœ… Facts and Context: 1.๐Ÿ”น 1695 was an extreme outlier during the Little Ice Age: 1695 is the"

"๐Ÿ” Claim 2: Only those that work are extremely white and small. โœ… Fact: False misleading and racially charged. Yes Nordic countries have historically been more ethnically homogeneous but that is changing: Sweden: XX% foreign-born (2024) Norway: XX% immigrant background Denmark and Finland: 1015% Immigrants are part of the healthcare sector manufacturing education and services. ๐Ÿ“‰ Claiming only white people are capable of working or sustaining an economy is both racist and empirically incorrect"

"I paid for my solar and home battery system entirely with my own money no grant no subsidy no government scheme. The energy company pays me a fair rate (15p/kWh) for the clean electricity I export which they resell at 3040p/kWh. Thats not a subsidy thats a profit for them and a benefit for the grid. This setup lowers demand cuts gas imports and helps stabilise prices its part of the solution not the problem"

"Yeah I wonder what could be depleting fast. The percentage of the UKs gas demand that will be met by imports by 2035 is projected to be around 7585 % based on current modelling. Even if the UK fully exploits all remaining economically viable gas fields in the North Sea it wont make a major dent in import dependency by 2035. Under optimistic production scenarios the UK would be able to meet at most 2025% of its gas demand from domestic production by 2035. Even a best-case push to exploit remaining UK gas fields will not materially reduce the UKs reliance on imports by 2035. The most effective"

"This post from State of Britain uses misleading graphs and false reasoning to blame renewable energy for high UK electricity prices. Lets break down the claims and facts to debunk the argument: ๐Ÿ” Fact Check โŒ Claim 1: Gas prices are low so theyre not responsible. โœ… Fact: Not true retail prices still reflect previous high gas prices due to hedging. UK energy suppliers hedge electricity XXX months in advance. Example: The JulySeptember 2025 price cap is based on gas/electricity prices from FebApril 2025 not todays spot price. Even if gas prices are falling now households are still paying for"

"The idea that 15p/kWh is virtue signalling or above market rate is simply false. UK retail consumers are paying around 2428p/kWh on standard tariffs almost double the 15p Octopus Outgoing rate. ๐Ÿ’ก Exporters arent overpaid theyre paid less than half of what the suppliers resell it for. Octopus simply avoids buying peak power at 3040p/kWh on the wholesale market by sourcing it from local homes. ๐Ÿ“‰ Market price retail price. The wholesale rate fluctuates between 2p15p/kWh but energy firms mark this up with: Standing charges Grid balancing fees VAT Supplier margins Policy costs (which fossil"

"Nordic countries consistently offer the best outcomes for the average citizen: High happiness Low inequality Long life expectancy Strong economies They are not socialist but they are proof that a highly regulated capitalist welfare model works even with immigration. ๐Ÿ” Claim 1: Nordic countries are circling the drain due to migrants living off the system. โœ… Fact: False and unsupported by evidence. Nordic countries remain among the worlds top performers in: GDP per capita (Norway Denmark Sweden) Life satisfaction (World Happiness Report 2024: Finland #1 Denmark #2) Employment and productivity"

"The cost of reaching net zero is small and manageable around XXX% of GDP per year while the cost of inaction could be over X% of GDP. The longer we wait the more we pay. based on OBR & Grantham Institute findings University College London (UCL) & Grantham Research Institute 2023 Their study found that if global warming is left unchecked the UK could suffer economic damages equivalent to XXX% of GDP annually by mid-century. These costs include: Flooding heatwaves and storm damage to infrastructure Productivity losses Public health burdens Strain on agriculture insurance and emergency services"

"David Turver appears to be part of a coordinated misinformation ecosystem that aims to: Delay or derail climate action Sow public doubt about renewables Promote fossil fuel dependence as reliable and cheap ๐Ÿ” Fact Check: Claims on Green Energy Costs David Turver claims that: Green subsidies add 12bn/year to bills twice the cost of gas. Grid balancing/backup adds 4bn now forecast to 12bn by 2030. Grid upgrades for remote renewables will cost 80bn adding 74/year to bills. Heres what he doesnt mention"
