Are there going to be other developers in the future coding this Then pick something that they would use too. TLDR: Tech stacks in general don't matter but align with other developers the project details and other factors to determine a good stack to use. You don't need to overkill it though. If your team all uses PHP + Vue for example and the project can use that then USE IT. Don't be trying to implement a whole new framework because its "fancy". Users don't care. Make your life simple"

No one is saying to rewrite the whole code with Vue now but for basic API calls and simple logic its much easier to use a framework like Vue than have all these conditionals using jQuery.
