"Do tech stacks matter Yes and No. Do you users care No. Do you need to plan for the future Yes. Are there going to be other developers in the future coding this Then pick something that they would use too. TLDR: Tech stacks in general don't matter but align with other developers the project details and other factors to determine a good stack to use. You don't need to overkill it though. If your team all uses PHP + Vue for example and the project can use that then USE IT. Don't be trying to implement a whole new framework because its "fancy". Users don't care. Make your life simple"

"Who cares about extending- its the ease of use. No one is saying to rewrite the whole code with Vue now but for basic API calls and simple logic its much easier to use a framework like Vue than have all these conditionals using jQuery. To each their own but you can't rip on the idea because you don't like it"

"Youre acting like adding a class to a parent magically replaces the need for logic and state. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sure that works in some cases but once your UI has actual conditions user input or dynamic data that CSS only trick falls apart fast Frameworks exist because real world apps arent just static markup and style toggles. Its not about being handicapped. its about not wasting time reinventing the wheel with small hacks If your solution works for your use case great. But dont confuse a shortcut for a scalable pattern. But sure tell me youre a junior dev without saying it ๐Ÿ˜‚"

"youre saying that manually querying and toggling visibility for 5+ DOM elements via jQuery is less complex than toggling a single reactive state variable that automatically updates the view if (somethingHappens) $('#element1").show() $('#element2").show() $('#element3").show() $('#element4").show() $('#element5").show() Vs. this.shouldShowFields = true; Its clunky. Does it work Yes. Although you have literally 5x more code. thats more to maintain and more prone to breaking"

"That feeling when the LLM keeps fixing your code aka just adding more ๐Ÿ’ฉ code and it still doesnt work. This is when LLMs cant even handle basic tasks sometimes. Everytime you correct it ah - right Meanwhile still wrong"

"The only thing with jQuery is it becomes so much more complex when you want to show/hide stuff dynamically if ($('.something')) then $('theelement').show() or .hide(); Why not just add "Vue" to your project you could use it like you already do with JQuery but for small some stuff you can easily just wrap stuff. i.e div v-if="shouldDisplayForPieter" Hey Pieter /div button @click="shouldDisplayForPieter = shouldDisplayForPieterDisplay/button"
