"You are not correct. Almost $500B of social security is taxed while less than $50B is returned to the trust fund. This low % so less than XX% can only occur if the social security income is treated as the first income to be taxed at your lowest tax rate when in reality it increases your tax by your highest tax rate"

"IRS tax data for 2022 shows that $458.5B of social security income was taxed. Again to be taxed you must be in a higher tax bracket than XX or XX% and the largest portion of that $458.5B will be from well off seniors who likely are in much higher tax brackets than the 22%. It may be possible that the $81.4B total reflects that but since a big portion goes to Medicare it still does not disprove the claim that the Democrats through their legislation raided the social security trust fund even if they used that revenue to bolster Medicare"

"@KobeissiLetter Much more interesting projections for 2026 and 2027: Revenue $5.562T up to $6.011T so $449B more revenue. Outlays $7.439T up to $7.613T a $164B increase. That means the deficit is projected to shrink by a whopping $285B"

"No we have this problem because Democrats refused to invest the trust fund where it would get a reasonable rate of return PLUS the fact that their legislation that lead to the taxation of social security income did a massive slight of hand and stole money from the trust fund. So much money that we wouldn't have a solvency issue if not for that theft"

"@bi0hacked @zerohedge Yeah you are wrong. The importer pays the tariff not the American people indeed all of it. As to how much of the cost increase from the tariff gets passed on to the consumer so far we have seen like in Trump XXX it is very little"

"Just because some Republicans voted for it doesn't mean it is bi-partisan legislation. Democrats controlled both houses of congress and the White House in 1993 therefore the legislation was pushed by the Democrats and they are responsible for its impact. Allocating $32.8B to the Medicare trust fund may sound great but it doesn't negate the fact that the full tax revenue generated by the tax on the social security income was not returned to the social security trust fund. So Democrats raided the social security trust fund to spend the money on something else in this case Medicare"

"Democrats need to pay a price not only for not investing the social security trust fund but much more importantly for stealing money from the trust fund through their scheme to tax social security. They claimed they returned the generated tax revenue to the trust fund but this is a lie they only returned a fraction of the actual additional tax revenue this generated. Had they returned the full amount of tax revenue generated to the trust fund social security would be solvent for decades to come"
