"Its pure MATH. The Bitcoin X year cycle is an artifact of the halving cycle which used to DOMINATE the supply curve of Bitcoin. The bull phase of the cycle occurred after it was clear the network would continue to grow despite the supply shock and peaked as worry grew over the next one. Today the halving amount is not even MATERIAL to the supply/demand dynamic so other than X datapoints on a chart it has little significance in price determination (or network growth)"
