"Sorry thats not true. I = V/R. If you have an air core inductor with a 1in diameter thats 3.14159e6 in of wire. Approximately 80km. 0.5mm2 wire is about XXXX Ohms/km. Total of 2760 ohms. 10V would give you about 3.4mA. The magnetic field is proportional to current so you will definitely have a magnetic field. The only time you can have voltage on a load with no current* is with a diode in reverse polarity. (Theres a small amount of leakage current but its mostly negligible. It basically becomes a very high resistance until you hit the threshold voltage)"
