"Thank you so much for sharing Your post truly inspired me. It reminded me of the recent exhibition at the Palace Museum which features an imperial painting of three mice also from around the same historical period. Im planning to write a short piece about it tomorrow. Id love to share it with you and would be very grateful for any thoughts you might have"

"Many Western commentators still struggle to accept that China's rise is rooted in its own internal logic and systemic advantages. Rather than being "sold out" it's more accurate to say that China seized the opportunities presented by globalization leveraging its reform dividends and demographic advantages to achieve extraordinary growth. History won't change course just because some people find it psychologically hard to accept"

"Thank you for your fascinating imagination So far almost no actual weapons have been excavated from Sanxingdui and there's no clear precedent for staff-like weapons in China 3000 years ago. While it might have been a sceptre it could also have been a ritual object used by a shaman or priest in ceremonies. That said during that time religion and politics were deeply intertwined so distinguishing between symbolic authority and religious function is often difficult"

"Thanks John I've already blocked that troll. As for your points-I personally don't believe in Tibetan Buddhism even though I have family members who do and I've even been a guest in the home of the previous Panchen Lama. According to the teachings the Dalai Lama is the reincarnation of a very important Bodhisattva. That reincarnation is determined by the Buddha himself not by personal will. So whether the Dalai Lama is acting as a man a high-ranking lama or as the emanation of that Bodhisattva he must respect the Buddha's will and decision-which means continuing to reincarnate in human form"

"Over a decade ago I had a similar experience on an Air China flight from Beijing to Los Angeles. Coincidentally my seat was right under the spot where water was leaking from the ceiling. The flight attendant brought me a bunch of napkins and asked me to hold them up with my hand to block the leak. I have a pretty good temper so I didn't say anything. But the man sitting behind me lost it-he got really upset and asked "Can this plane even fly like this" The flight attendant tried to reassure him saying "Don't worry once we're in the air we'll be with you." She also explained that there's a"

"Haha the fact that you're willing to challenge the German rail system again just to see this film is truly heroic I'll inquire Mr. Yu about if their works have been available in Germany before. I hope the "Program" cinema will screen it and that you'll make it there safely. May your journey be smooth and free of surprises"

"If you want to understand how empires think right before they fall read this wonderful article. It's not just about China and also about America's crisis of identity and the distorted channels of knowledge-rational scholars who could genuinely help the US understand China are ignored or silenced while figures like Miles Yu rise to prominence"

"Have you ever noticed that when talking about the 1986 excavations at Sanxingdui I often focus on Pit No. X but rarely mention Pit No. X It's true that overall the artifacts from Pit No. X are less impressive than those from Pit No. X. However Pit No. X holds a remarkable treasure that has sparked debate for nearly XX years an extraordinarily luxurious golden scepter. This gold scepter is XXX centimeters long and XXX centimeters in diameter. It was made by wrapping a 7-centimeter-wide sheet of gold foil around a wooden stick which still contains traces of carbonized material. The entire piece"

"What do a painted ghost a reincarnated lover and a Daoist wall-walker have in common They live in Curious Tales of a Temple () the new animated epic from China's top animation studio Light Chaser @Yu_Zhou. After four years in production Light Chaser Animation premiered their latest feature film on July XX marking the studio's most ambitious work to date. Two weeks ago I had the privilege of attending an internal screening at Light Chaser's headquarters where I offered some feedback on the film. I was so impressed that I purchased IMAX tickets to watch it again with my family last night. We"

"China's leading animation studios Light Chaser is set to release the country's first animated feature film based on the Three Kingdoms next summer-Battle of Luoyang (). The film focuses on the turbulent years leading up to the Three Kingdoms period portraying the fierce political rivalry between Cao Cao () and Yuan Shao (). Last year I had the privilege of accompanying the production team on a research trip to Luoyang where we explored the ruins of the Eastern Han imperial palace and visited the Luoyang Museum. We also traveled to Cao Cao's mausoleum in Anyang which lies just half an hour"
