"I agree that solar and storage is by far the cheapest and cleanest way to build capacity to manage peak loads. Not only that but over time it becomes the cheapest way to expand grid capacity. That said how much Enbridge CEO makes it irrelevant and unnecessary to this discussion. We should be grateful that Enbridge has gotten us this far and we should also be looking at using gas to help power AI data centers in remote locations where pollution is more easily managed"

"Canada does not buy XXX mm japanese cars every year though. The other very big issue going undiscussed is the massive national security issue around where all the data these cars collect would reside. It's annoying that even after all our failed investments in non-tesla battery factories and cars Canadians are still so stupid to think that EVs are anything at all like ICE cars. They aren't. It's why Tesla wins and all other non-Chinese EVs have been massive failures . And now we think we can just produce EVs for a hostile government that has massive tariffs on us Let's get our shit together"
