"I did some shopping today. Didn't want to but couple of positions looks attractive. Credo $CRDO and Avadel $AVDL came in to touch their XX moving averages. For both of them since the April lows this is the second hit. So how did I play it I sold some XX delta options for Nov XX. This allows me to collect XX days of time premium and I already like them at current levels. But since I sold XX delta puts I won't be assigned until the stocks become another 10-15% cheaper. If it plays out that way happy to own the stocks and if it doesn't I will collect my X% portfolio return and keep it moving."

"$HALO - X% Halozyme announced they are going to buy Electrofi in a XXX mil. deal. They reiterated the guidance after the deal announcement. As you would expect markets did not like the acquisition news. I think since HALO did a big guidance upgrade in Aug already they are playing safe. Lets see how the next quarter results go and if they have more info in the business to update the guide. However HALO is not a big beta stock. Due to that this may be the next one to leave my portfolio"

"It's a very interesting concept. I am still trying to figure it out. The names over the last few months that come to mind are $oscr $plmr $halo $nvda $ever $anip $mirm $cybr $four. $crwd Medtech/ specialty pharmacy has a lot of these names. But if they hit it out of the park qtr after qtr then obviously this doesn't matter. But over long stretches of time the high beta stocks if they are still performing I think produces better results. Again there is some recency bias here like the last X years but I want to do some more research on this and see if I can work this in my portfolio"

But to pivot to this style of investing I need to keep valuation into mind as when these things turn the unrealistic valuation businesses will get decimated. A few things to consider for a high beta portfolio - you are ok with insane swings (equates to high risk tolerance) you need to be able to add more money to the markets and not closer to retirement and you are chasing alpha or higher returns where you want to double or triple S&P"
