"One of the best investing decisions I ever made: To exit real estate investing (REI). REI was one of the most stressful experiences I've ever faced. REI is highly marketed as one of the best investments but it is riddled with countless risks. And the success stories suffer from survivorship bias - you rarely hear about the horror stories. It may work out for some but it is most definitely not for me. The strange part - for the longest time I was fixated on REI. I "knew" it was for me. "Generally in the microcap universe I've found the higher the level of annual sales the higher the P/S multiple. Big moves (or any moves) can be driven from a) fundamental strength - sales/margin/earnings growth and/or b) multiple expansion. But not necessarily P/E expansion. Example: $zomd.v - has 30X'd in X years. And still a microcap ;-) Has steadily increasing level of sales (sales growth) margins etc. P/E has actually decreased but P/S has been steadily increasing. Not sure if that answers your question but both fundamental growth and multiple expansion can be key drivers"

"No matter how much due diligence you do There will always be unknown risks or opportunities. Diversification is key for this reason. To say that diversification is for those who dont know what theyre doing is just one opinion. Casting a wider net a) protects against negative surprises and b) allows a greater chance to benefit from positive ones"
