"There is a valid national security reason to develop additional launch providers. Having all your eggs in one basket is bad. Suppose the next version of Falcon X is found to have a serious flaw or SpaceX is found to be falsifying test or safety data or has a series of unexplained launch failures. Or the whole Tesla/SpaceX/Twitter complex collapses financially or SpaceX decides to put all their efforts into Starship and shuts down F9. Being dependent on a single vendor for DOD access to space is bad bad bad. Im a SpaceX fanboy but we need another provider ASAP"
