"Did someone truly think it would help take the heat out of the immigration debate by moving a large number of asylum seekers to a swanky hotel located in one of the most expensive quarters of London Jesus wept. It's practically encouraging people to protest"

"Why are teams such as Doncaster trying to pass the ball around inside their own six-yard box I suppose because someone told them it is the 'cultured' way to play. Absolutely mental"

"Britain has become a walk-on-by society - and its because anyone minded to intervene is scared stiff of being stabbed. Admit it: the knife culture has fundamentally altered the social order in our country. My latest piece"

"I'm not sure how long a country can hold together when so many in positions of authority - those who run its national local corporate voluntary and educational institutions - have a worldview that is so far removed from the opinions of millions of mainstream voters and worse often consider those opinions to be toxic and worthy of suppression. That kind of deep ideological divergence between the ruling elites and large swathes of the populace is unlikely to end well"

"I like @IainDale; he is a thoughtful presenter. But Christ he displays a sneering metropolitan liberal attitude in this exchange. The caller may not have articulated her point perfectly; but millions of British citizens will understand the point she was trying to make"

"A whole news report from the BBC on todays hotel protest in Norwich omits to mention the name or location of the hotel stating merely that it is in the Norwich area. Seems an odd thing to do. Does the BBC not trust us with the facts"

"Three Epping residents. All of them thoughtful and articulate. Plainly not 'far right'. When folk such as this in a usually sedate English market town are getting angry trouble is brewing"

""For at least two decades our political class has been playing with fire over the issue of immigration repeatedly promising to get numbers down but invariably failing to do so. And now a storm is gathering." My debut column for the GB News website"

"In the past XX hours there have been demonstrations on the streets of Epping (Essex) and Diss (Norfolk) - both affluent leafy market towns not exactly synonymous with revolt or disorder. It is a measure of the general anger over the immigration crisis that places such as these have become hotbeds of protest. I desperately hope the government gets to grips with the crisis soon - for the sake of both the people of this country and the migrants themselves. But I fear too many in positions of power have little desire to address the problem - or even if they do not the first idea where to begin."

"@campbellclaret This is just waffle. It's an argument against anyone having the right to be angry about a problem and to express their anger and to demand that something be done about it. You are trying to bully people into not speaking up about their concerns. Shameful"

"This is where gender ideology has led us to. A biological man using a female toilet at a railway station. Concerned women report the matter to station staff who in turn say that the man is entitled to use the female toilet if he wishes. Utter madness"

"King Charles had no business claiming in his Christmas message that diversity is our strength. It is in fact our greatest challenge. Public leaders should not regurgitate unproven mantras for political purposes. My latest piece (no paywall)"

"This tweet from a Green party official shows how the progressive class treats every liberal social shift as year zero. She condemns Sultana for consorting with people who hold opinions which reflect the legal norm as it was just a few weeks ago and are still held by millions"

"Countries can get by when the economy is struggling but there are high levels of trust and social cohesion. They can also get by when the economy is thriving but trust and social cohesion are in short supply. But they will almost certainly run into massive problems when the economy is struggling and trust and social cohesion are breaking down. That I fear is where Britain is today"

"As I know from personal experience Norwich is generally one of the most chilled-out live-and-let-live cities in Britain. Large numbers have turned out to protest this afternoon. The political establishment has just pushed people too far. Something has snapped"
