"Meanwhile in the tropics #97L looks like it heads north and then loops back around. It may make a brief run at our next tropical storm. Of more interest could be the wave emerging off Africa now. Even though we are getting late for Cabo Verde waves to come all the way across the MDR its not impossible. EURO and GoogleDM have something with this later in the next X weeks sneaking into the Caribbean but it will likely change a million times until then. "Well advertised pending coastal low/nor'easter should give us our fair share of strong onshore winds enhanced coastal flooding rip currents beach erosion and heavy rain in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast for our weekend. More homes will likely taken by the sea in Buxton and Rodanthe NC. The evolution starts with this distubance coming south from western TN this morning on WV imagery. Low pressure will form off the coast and move north this weekend with a strong pressure gradient along the way. "What is of more interest to us is the nor'easter type storm guidance continues to generate over the weekend. Low pressure will organize east of FL on the same front we are watching today and move up or just off the Mid Atlantic coast over the weekend. Then it gets tricky cuz guidance keeps it off the coast with the operational EURO stalling then driving it west (Ensemble mean never brings it ashore) and the GFS taking it east behind what will be Jerry. It reminds me a little of the situation we dealt with with Humberto and Imelda where the ensembles went out to see and the operational went"

"The area of convection south of the Cabo Verde Islands may be our last gasp of the 2025 Atlantic season. Guidance brings something quietly across the Atlantic and into the Carribean by this time next week. GFS is most aggressive at this time but both GoogleDM and EURO have something there. The question is: Is it from the aforementioned wave or is something new going to come from the CAG (Central American Gyre) or is it a combination of those things. Nobody knows.
