"@baovtuber @Twitch I'm not defending TwitchCon when I say this but this is as much (if not more) on San Diego Convention Center since they decide which security TwitchCon can even hire. And I'd not be surprised if the @SDConventionCtr list is all lowest bidders & connected friends with companies"

"@L0sMuertosVT @baovtuber @Twitch @SDConventionCtr Hard to know for certain. From what I have read on the SDCC regulations page the police cover security for the exterior (outdoor) spaces of the convention while leased space (indoor) spaces are managed by whichever third party SDCC-approved security firm is being used"

"@MooMooClover Smaller cons that happen at hotels rather than major city convention centers probably do have more control over who they use for security yeah. San Diego Convention Center insists on pushing the same handful of incompetent and rude security vendors on events like TwitchCon"

"@LucyPyre_ XXX percent. @SDConventionCtr needs to directly address this with the security vendors they pre-approve for use by the events they host. San Diego vendors (like Allied and SafePro) that cannot be trusted to employ competent security need to be dropped from their contracts"

"@L0sMuertosVT @baovtuber @Twitch @SDConventionCtr Was that ComicCon Their exterior enforcement presence is nuts. Police snipers on hotel rooftops undercover cops local FBI disguised as cosplayers et cetera. Cons that size are critical events for law enforcement. Like at CC 2024 they busted a whole human trafficking ring"

"@L0sMuertosVT @baovtuber @Twitch @SDConventionCtr I'm not saying we shouldn't. I'm saying people should be directing equal energy toward the convention center itself (in addition to Twitch) for mandating conventions work with inept and incompetent security companies like Allied and SafePro"

"@Jollztv Yeeaah. Although this is just as much on the convention center itself as on Twitch since the SDCC restricts which security companies an event is able to hire and (after a few years in the Cali hospitality industry) I guarantee they're all questionable lowest bidders"

"@sillycircusbaby This is also just as much (if not moreso) on the San Diego Convention Center since they are the ones who decide which security companies (guaranteed to be lowest bidders and connected friends) events like TwitchCon can even use"

"@SDConventionCtr @TwitchCon So what happened with security at the event Cause it sounds like your pre-approved list of security operations providers was unable to provide when it came to preventing (most important) or responding to (second most important) a sexual assault & they reportedly laughed it off"

"@Swiiika_ @TwitchCon @blerp Ooooh you're taking the magic public now That's huge for people I've never taken advantage myself (because a fool's gotta fool) but I've seen the impact your guidance has had on even the most brand new of brand new clippers & editors with zero experience. It's actual sorcery"

"@bellasuccubuss @baovtuber @Twitch @SDConventionCtr Basically convention centers like SDCC operate according to a city-approved vendor model built on contracts with unions and vendors so every role comes from an approved vendor list. Even the food that's sold at TwitchCon is restricted entirely to food vendors the SDCC provides"

"@sitdowndusty @Asmongold @Pirat_Nation It was a party that happened during TwitchCon but it was an off-site party organized and hosted by a third party company called Blerp which makes an extension some streamers use"

"@AI_EmeraldApple It was definitely assault AND battery since the guy put his hands on her and Twitch definitely needs to be held to account. And so does the San Diego Convention Center since the SDCC is the one who tells conventions which security vendors they are allowed to hire"
