"the reward token (applstXTZ) is basically just like rEUL. applstXTZ has a 1:1 value with stXTZ (liquid staked XTZ) when you claim applstXTZ from Merkl you start a X month linear vesting period with XX% being redeemable immediately and the other XX% vesting over X months. since the underlying token is liquid staked XTZ you're also earning yield from the vesting itself - around X% right now. not sure fully what you mean by the last point but as mentioned it has a 1:1 value with stXTZ so the APR is right - but you're correct in saying there's special mechanisms for it :D here's more info:"
