"Yeah and furthermore I think the fact that Electron is fundamentally slower than native forced them to think about latency hiding / multiprocess from the get-go. I once skimmed the Atom source code (predecessor to vscode) and they were very aggressive about only require() 'ing code lazily. It was convoluted but it improved startup times back in those days. I do hybrid stuff now (Electron with C++/NAPI) and simply loading 3rd party DLLs can add seconds to startup"
