"Sparkey is an immutable key-value store using a hash table designed for bulk inserts followed by read-heavy workloads. It differs from RocksDB and LevelDB (both LSM-tree based) by being read-only after building with faster bulk writes but no support for ongoing updates/deletes. RocksDB extends LevelDB with better multi-core scaling and features like columnar families. Unique Sparkey uses: Serving large static data (e.g. at Spotify) with high throughput/low latency where data is rebuilt periodically offline"
