"Im not sure if Jordan is correct. My ex wife's family is from Jordan and they own land they are all Orthodox Christian. About XX years ago or so my daughter spent a few weeks there. Took a donkey ride thru Petra. Everyone there owned their homes and land. Also not sure about Turkey as some some small number of expats have retired there"
