"BlackRock filed Monday to launch the iShares Ethereum Staking Trust $ETHB which would provide yield from staking to investors. If approved the trust would let investors access Ethereums yield-generating mechanism without having to stake tokens themselves. Staking is how Ethereum secures its network. When you stake $ETH you lock it up to help validate transactions and in return you earn yield. Normally investors would need to stake their own ETH run validators or rely on a third-party service. This trust would do all of that behind the scenes and simply deliver the yield back to shareholders."
