"The world's tallest metro station is set to be constructed in Dubai. Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) the 74-metre new Emaar Properties Station will open in 2029 and form part of the Emirate's $4.8BN new metro Blue Line. Covering approximately 11000 square metres the station willbe able to accommodate up to 160000 passengers daily with projected usage surpassing 70000 commuters per day by 2040. In a statement Emaar Properties said the stations architectural design "echoes the grand verticality and elegance" of its most developments. The station is being billed as a 'new gateway'"
