"On December 1st Torbjorn Tornqvist co-founder of Gunvor stepped down and sold his stake after U.S. sanctions blocked its attempt to buy Lukoils $22bn foreign assets intensifying scrutiny over Gunvors ties to Russia. Now Lukoil may have to sell those assets piecemeal and at lower prices. The sanctions imposed on November 21st target anyonegloballyfacilitating oil sales by Lukoil and Rosneft which make up half of Russias crude exports.
