"Yes coffee prices rose over the past year but zooming out over a very long time series one can see coffee prices have lagged materially. Coffee traded in a band of $1-3/lb for almost XX years while inflation gradually crept upward. Coffee's prior peak was $3.66/lb in 1977 which is equivalent to $18/lb today.
