This is part of Zimplats US$1.8bn expansion investment into Zimbabwe which includes opening new mining areas and increasing processing. The new smelter increases capacity from 135000 to 380000 tonnes of concentrate a year. Next at the site the company will install a sulphur dioxide abatement plant which will cut emissions from the smelting process while generating a by-product that will be used in local fertiliser production. 🎥 Hatch"
