🇨🇳 Beijing underwater: worst flooding in half a century

China’s capital has been overwhelmed by torrents of mud and debris — record-breaking downpours have turned the city’s streets into raging rivers, sweeping away cars and people. Entire villages in the suburbs of Beijing have been flooded.

According to China’s Ministry of Water Resources, at least XX rivers have overflowed across the country. The heavy rains are expected to continue for at least three more days. In some areas, the situation is near catastrophic — flooding of this scale hasn’t been seen since the mid-20th century.

So far, XX people have been reported dead in Beijing and XXXXXX residents evacuated, according to China Central Television (CCTV).
