The technology we are talking about here is proof of work. It took 10+ years to improve it and we have Kaspa representing it. 

Kaspa is now the new standard for how one should proof of work. It also can adapt to new advances unlike Bitcoin which doesn’t want to adapt. 

So IF something was to come along loads of factors need to be met that also include things outside of just tech.
